The Quiet Strength of Resilience

“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, ‘I’ll try again tomorrow.’”
— Mary Anne Radmacher

Some days, courage shows up boldly—it stands tall, speaks out, and takes action. But more often than not, courage appears in the quieter moments. It's not the roar of success or the fire of confidence. It’s the still, steady voice that whispers in the silence: “I haven’t given up.”

That quiet voice? That’s resilience.

I’ve learned over the years—both through personal challenges and in my work with others—that resilience doesn’t always look like bouncing back immediately. It looks like continuing on, even when you're tired. It looks like waking up with hope, even after a tough night. It looks like trying again, not because everything is okay, but because you believe it could be.

Resilience is a Daily Choice

Resilience isn’t about being unaffected by life’s difficulties. It’s about how we respond when things don’t go to plan. When plans fall apart, relationships shift, or our confidence wavers—resilience is what helps us keep showing up.

It’s not linear. It’s not shiny or perfect. Sometimes it means resting. Sometimes it means asking for help. Sometimes it means forgiving yourself when you didn’t get it right.

And sometimes, it simply means saying:
“Today was hard, but I’ll try again tomorrow.”

That kind of courage—quiet, gentle, persistent—is what helps us build a life we’re proud of.

Let’s Normalise the Quiet Wins

We live in a world that celebrates the loudest victories. We praise hustle, productivity, and visible success. But what about the unseen triumphs?

  • Getting out of bed when your heart feels heavy

  • Speaking kindly to yourself after making a mistake

  • Taking a break before burnout hits

  • Saying “no” when you’ve always said “yes”

  • Reaching out for support when you're used to holding it all in

These moments matter. They are the building blocks of real, lasting resilience. And they deserve to be honoured.

My Gentle Reminder to You

If today didn’t go the way you hoped...
If you're carrying disappointment, fatigue, or fear...
If your energy is low and your inner critic is loud...

Please remember: you are still doing the work.

Resilience isn't about always getting it right. It's about staying in the process—even when it’s messy. It’s about trusting that growth can still happen in the pause, in the stillness, in the spaces where nothing seems to be moving.

Try Again Tomorrow—With Kindness

So tonight, if all you can do is rest, reflect, and whisper to yourself, “I’ll try again tomorrow”—that’s enough. That’s courage. That’s resilience. That’s healing in motion.

And when tomorrow comes, you can begin again—not from the start, but from experience. Stronger, wiser, and more equipped to meet the day.

You don’t need to roar.
You just need to keep going—at your pace, in your way.

With heart,
Anna-Louise Leyden
